Our School

Our school serves students with Special Needs and Ready Start students three to five years of age. Sorenson is a caring place where all children are encouraged to learn through experiences that provide for their developmental needs-physical, social, emotional, communication and intellectual. Our goal is to nurture in our children a love and excitement for life and learning and to equip them with the skills and confidence they will need to be successful.

The Sorenson staff believes that we can best assist our students by working closely with parents to provide the most effective learning environment. We are happy to be able to present activities that promote family involvement and ongoing communications with school. We also believe that all children should have many opportunities to engage with their peers. We strive to provide our special needs students with daily opportunities to be with their typically developing peers in fun, age appropriate learning activities.

We thank our parents for allowing us the opportunity to work with them as partners in their child's early education. We also thank the community for their support. Together we can lay the groundwork to encourage our students to become lifelong learners.
