Dear Returning Early Childhood Families,
We want to inform you about some important changes coming for the 2025–26 school year. Due to declining preschool enrollment, the number of Ready Start classrooms will be reduced from 15 to 12. Sadly, this means we won’t be able to retain all of our wonderful staff within our early childhood program. We are currently working with Human Resources to determine which staff members will be affected, and we will keep you updated as decisions are finalized.
You may also be aware that Sorenson Early Childhood Center is undergoing a major renovation. The updated facility will include more classrooms, an activity room, new therapy spaces, and a large inclusive playground. With the reduction in classrooms, all Ready Start programs will now be located within this newly remodeled space. You can learn more about the expansion by clicking here
While we’re excited for all Ready Start students to benefit from a building designed specifically for preschool, we understand this transition may be significant for some families. To help with planning, we are sharing next year’s feeder patterns, which are based on your child’s neighborhood school—the one they would attend for kindergarten.

The district also offers bus transportation from daycares located within Northshore School District boundaries we have included which feeder pattern daycares fit into below.
